Went to TnT, tonight. Been trying to get my Cuda into the 12's, and over 100 mph, in the 1/4 mile. It has gone over 100 a couple of times, but never 12's. Tonight, was best ever, Et's and MPH, and the air was terrible.

60ft.....................1/8...........mph...........1/4.............mph
1.828................8.264........81.61.........13.096.........100.95
1.764.................8.218.......80.57.........13.093.........100.47
1.770.................8.182........81.50........13.009.........101.15
1.776.................8.219........81.03........13.064.........101.02

Just for giggles and grins my 1st pass was on motor only.
2.755.................11.791......60.32..........18.333.........74.54

All bottle, no throttle.

Impressive stuff, Charlie! So close to the 12s. If it makes you feel better my 68 turbo Dart has run over 100 MPH and only low-mid 14s ETs... Need to work on that...

Looks like wheelspin killed the 60 on that 'throttle' pass, eh?
You just can't tame that beast!

Next time, one less cheeseburger ought to get you there!

Even though, I didn't get into the 12's, I was happy. Every run over 100 mph, and the most consistant the car has ever been. Only .087 difference fastest to slowest. Plus the fact of how many people came over to check the car out. I do need to check out the engine or converter, as I am down about 300 rpm full stall on motor.

I found two more time slips, that fell under the seat. They are 1st and 2nd bottle runs. Spun on the 1st run, so lowered tire pressure for the remaining runs.

60ft.....................1/8...........mph...........1/4.............mph

Well the weight of the paper under the seat is what cost you that .009 to dip under the 13 mark...

I feel for ya! Anything else in the car that you can lighten to get you that extra hair to beat the mark?

There is a lot I can remove to save weight. The problem is, the car is basically too good to "butcher". It was just going to be a tempory race car, back in 2001, when I started racing it. It is really too heavy at 3250 lbs. I have enough other cars, that I don't mind putting on a diet. I really need to find a good home for this 66 Cuda, but there is not a large market for something like this. I will probably pull the slant six drivetrain during the winter, and install either: a correct date coded 273 engine, or a 318 cop car engine, and put it up for sale. Unless I can find a buyer as it is.

Hell, I don't feel bad, at all. I'm happy as a pigi n s--t, it runs that good, with the small amout of money I have in the motor, and pretty much stays together. I'm going to pull the plugs, look at them, look in the cylinders with a bore scope, do a leakdown test. If everything look good, I'll try one jet size bigger on fuel and nitrous.

PS: What are you doing online? Your'e supposed to be heading down here.

.010 off (12.99) has me wondering how much fuel was in the gas tank, how much oil in the oil pan & trans pan... and maybe pulling the fan v-belt, right before the pass.
(you do have alturnator field shut-off... right?)

2-3 gal fuel, 5 qts oil and stock oil pan without baffles or tray. Deep trans pan. No fan belt, electric fan and water pump drive. Full throttle alt field cutout. Maybe I should swap the 7 1/4 rear back in  . Actually, I think if the air hadn't been so "thick", I would have made it. It was upper 80 degrees, and driving through the pits, would get condensation on the outside of the windshield.
