TL;DR version: Does anyone make a seat mounting bracket specifically for the early (pre-'67) A-bodies? The floor under the front bench isn't level, which makes things difficult.

My '64 Dart came with a front bench seat, which was bolted to the floor on both sides near the rockers. The floor under the front bench is not level left to right; it slopes upwards toward the trans tunnel. When we prepped the car for LeMons racing, we had to lower the driver's side floor in order to gain enough headroom with helmets (I'm pretty tall). So the new floor on that side ended up being flat anyway, making it easy to install a race seat.

Well, I occasionally drive the car around town, so now I'd like to put in a passenger seat. Unfortunately, because the floor slopes downwards from tunnel to rocker, this is looking to be a huge pain in the ass. I really don't want to build a new floor on this side as well, so I'm hoping there's an easier way to do this. Any suggestions? Is there, by any chance, a seat bracket specifically made for these cars? Or am I going to be welding up my own mount with legs of different length on all 4 corners?

I used the original Dart bucket seat bases and stuck a pair of Dodge Dakota seats on top of them. They're about two inches too tall for me,
so I'll have to section the bases to get my hair out of the slipstream. I'm right at six feet tall. Hope that helps.

Early Dart Disorder (EDD) is real, and I've got it!

I am not aware of any brackets. I have fabbed brackets for buckets on 3 64-66 A-bodies now. Just takes a little time and scrap metal. The simplest was using 2" exhaust pipe and closing the ends of the cut-to-fit pipe with fender washers. These are variable "standoffs" to mount a seat on. Reinforce floor on inboard 2 points.

Brilliant! Sort of a metal version of the rubber hoses you use for your hood supports. If you wanted to get a little bit fancy you could weld the washers once you were happy wth the height.
