I got mine from Rock Auto. Works just fine and doesn't leak, unlike my original one.
You might find a local radiator shop that would clean and repair yours at a good price.
Play with the heater box gently, it's not hard to break.

Just a thought -
When I did mine I had a rare experience with forethought and got a gasket kit for the heater box BEFORE I had it all torn down

I used a kit from Detroit Muscle, it was nice, with full instructions that made life a lot easier. You can get yours from their site or maybe from them through feebay. Your kit is on their site here>

Thanks again for recommending the rebuild kit. Got one ordered and not a bad price either........

I was glad I got the gasket kit, everything was trashed on mine and I was bright enough to take lots of pics, before and during the tear down. That saved our butts when putting it back together since we took everything out of the case to de-rust and refinish all the air doors and case covers:

It turned out nice, too bad it's buried under the dash.....

Another thought - I'm not sure on your car, but pulling the cardboard glovebox liner out of the dash on my B Body really made it easy to see and disconnect/connect the heater control cables.

Good job on the rebuild and the new gasket set, wish I'd done that with mine. Fortunately mine weren't too bad, and some foam bits and rtv sealed it up pretty well. I think I'll order that kit for my other two early Darts.
