I'm lucky that I have a Spicer dealer in town and get my parts from them (along with driveline mods as well). If you won a bid and they can't provide you with the exact product you bid on, I'd get a refund-that's a classic bait and switch for all you know they are sending you a box of chinese rocks. -D.Idiot |

hi, try to get the spicer 5-789X for the smaller 7260 style or use the spicer 5-811X for the 7290 style u joint. made in someplace called U.S.A. . they still have some pretty good parts made there . try napa, summit racing , jegs, etc. . thanks, ron |

He's trying to save a buck or 5 on e-bay and wasn't worried the u-joint would blow and he could do his best imitation of a popsicle.... |

I'd guess the parts you got would get the car out of the driveway anyway. If you're going to redo it anyway, you're not saving money in the long haul. Me, I'd rather do it right the first time and not have to do it again. Of course, YMMV. BC |

well the 1 set of old bearings were semi locked up, otherwise I would have used them. .this car has a stock motor/4 barrel carb//6+8 intake Clifford /hooker headers/trans brake w/reverse manual valve body/stock torque converter so it is a long project but has been off the street now 1-2 years. hope to build a motor over the winter/get a quality torque converter/rear and such. it is just 1 slant six project/have a 1973 slant six dart sport too.. + a 440/4speed 1968 dart project ... |

I'm just about to put in those same U-Joints. Any general rules on torquing them? I don't want to crush them. |

No, but when changing u-joints you should not use a hammer to install them, and you have to make sure the grease zerk is in position for compression otherwise the u-joint will fail...-D.Idiot |
