A word to the wise: a lot of those older Dodge trucks have a tendency to rust out along the rear bottom corners of the front fenders and the door bottoms. Check to make sure that any factory provisions for water drainage in those areas are free of clogging debris and able to serve their intended function. Much easier to prevent the rot than to repair it once it sets in... |

Finally started on the truck. Rims are at the stripper. Valve cover has been pulled and painted. Intake and exhaust manifolds are soaking in Evapo-Rust. That stuff is great. Here is the triangle washer after soaking and then after a little wire wheel cleanup And here is all the intake hardware cleaned up. Just need to prime and paint them |

More photos of the work in progress. Old vs. New shock (even the new shock is 10 years old) Super Six intake all cleaned and painted. Engine bay is going to look interesting. |

No history. I bought it in 2000 in Fort Collins CO. Engine has been swapped or rebuilt. Had a ok respray years before I got it. Probably due to some damage. Mostly solid body and frame. A little rust in the usual places. Grill is dented but repairable. Wood in the bed is shot. Rest of bed is good. Bed may not be original. |

Plum Crazy Purple Engine enamel My daughter picked the color. Engine block is period correct Chrysler blue. Valve cover is flat black. I think I might paint the Air cleaner housing yellow. lol |

Work has been slowed due to family responsibilities and cracks. Cracks in the exhaust manifold and rear diff cover to be exact. But the rear brakes will be complete today (if the hose shows up) And the drivers side suspension will be completely torn down and cleaned |

I have added more photos to the gallery. She is coming along, just slower than planned. Keep finding more things wrong. And then you have to wait for parts. But the goal is to have here back on her own tires by the end of the weekend |

It's been a tube bending experience lately. I have learned a few interesting facts. Hand bendable brake line is cool. But you still need a bender for the really right radius bends. I no longer have good Strength in my hands. As your tube cutter gets dull it starts to not cut perfectly square. Which leads to really bad or no double flare. So what I had hoped to only take a few hours will end up taking a lot more. Plus a run to the store for a new tubing cutter |
