I found this intake and thougt it was a supersix intake manifold, but the holes as you can see are in the ''wrong direction''. What carb will fit and how would it be with the trottle linkage etc. Thanks! /Mandersson

Hejsan M(ons/ikke/ajsan/?)

Is it an aluminum intake manifold, or steel?

Can you see any numbers or markings that may tell something about the origin, and if so, can you please post a picture of them?

Looks like a Mopar Performance slant six two barrel intake, but usually there are castings on the runnings saying "Mopar" and a part number. It is an aftermarket manifold for sure, but it looks like the manufacturer's mark has been removed.

2205901 = casting number for ordinary production '61-'67 one-barrel intake manifold. Can you provide some larger pictures of the intake? It is a stock intake manifold that someone has done some very nice machine work to. One thing you will need to check is if the person who machine the intake kept the correct carburetor angle.

My M-1 doesn't look like that. It is turned like a regular Super Six.

Wasn't there a South African intake that looked like that too?

That last picture confirms that that is a home made intake. Somebody ground the carb mounting pad off of a one barrel intake and epoxied and screwed the machined plate to the top of the manifold. Looks like nice work though.

very nice work.. looks like a carter 2bbl would fit? but how will it work with trottle and kickdown linkage? anyone who has seen a carb in this direction?

I have a stock 1 bbl intake modified like that for a 500 holley 2 bbl. When it was on my 65 Valiant I used the stock "twisty" throttle linkage. I removed the "U" bracket from the 1bbl carb and welded it to the holley.
When I put it on my 66 Cuda I just used a cable throttle. I had a munual Valve body, so did not need kickdown, but a Lokar cable could be used, or a homemade setup.
