Hey,

Just had my front end rebuilt, and while I was doing it, I wanted to see if the guys would install the FirmFeel sway bar on my 63 Valiant. They showed me why they couldn't.

Basically, it looks like the the caliper bumps into it based on the FirmFeel installation instructions.

Anyone with experience with this?

I read somewhere (not sure where, but on this forum) that you can try turning the Scarebird plates around (caliper on back) and it will work.

Ideas?

That is an old trick on sway bar equipped mopars that were converted to the late disc brake setup. You will have to mock it up and see if the swap will clear the scarebird setup.

I don't know about Scarebird's kit, but when I put bbp ('73) discs & a sway bar on my 63 Valiant, I had to swap knuckles L-R in order to mount the calipers "behind" the wheels & clear things.

I did the same thing on this dart for the same reason. Make sure your bleed valves end up on top. I also ended up welding the sway bar tab to the LCA after literally years of trying every possible configuration with the bolt-on tab. It is welded on right between the rivet for the knuckle and the shock bolt, tilted inboard at about the angle of the shock itself.

I welded the sway bar link tabs to the LCA's after ripping the "bolt-on" type right off.

That is absolutely the way to go.
