Hey guys,
Apparently my daughters 75 Duster was blessed with the 1940 model carb; my excitement is barely contained. The only difference is the Gradient power enrichment system on the 1940 has this rod that goes thru the bowl, up to the inside where the acc plunger lives, and appears to pull down (or lift up) the vacuum piston. The bowl tops on both the 40 and 45 are identical (minus this rod, spring, houndstooth retainer, and screw). Model 1940:
Model 1945
Can anyone tell me if I can just conveniently "leave this out" from my rebuild? I dont have emissions testing in my county and really don't see how this can possibly keep the car from running well if left out. Or, can someone post me a picture of the top view of the inside of a 1945 bowl? I need to see if this vertical hole in the bowl is on both models. The rebuild manual that Dan has posted elsewhere shows this hole on both models, but its possible the manual editors just may have been lazy and overlooked showing them as identical.
Thanks
Trav
