So my next 2 upgrades is the distributor recurve and HEI. I have everything for the HEI and just wanted the engine to be right first. As for the recurve I know there is someone on here who sells the springs but my question is in regards to how. Is it just a single set of springs or different "weight" springs? If it is different "weight" how do I know which ones to use? I am using a rebuilt distributor but it is fresh.

It is bigslant6fan who has the kits. Read the spring information on the 4 page pdf, doc posted in the "Timing and Recurve section "http://www.dutra.org/doug/draft-webpages/distributor/distributor.htm" under Engine FAQ. It is the first link with 4 .pdf's That is the best set of instructions I have seen. It is from the old Crane upgrade kit.

The spring kit has light, medium and heavy springs. Plot your curve that your distributor has now and then plot the changes as you go. This will give you a good base line to start from and a good reference. Many of us have done recurves with excellent results!
