What is the best / easiest way to remove and replace the dizzy without mucking up the timing? (I have the motor out of the car and on an engine stand at the moment). Thanks. |

take the cap off-- note the position of the rotor-- (which cylinder it is pointing at)-- remove said dizzy--- re-install with rotor pointing to same cylinder-- done. This works if you do not change anything-- do not rotate the motor or switch to petronix--. Lawrence |

What would switching to Pertronix do?

You need to retime the engine when you install a pertronix because it's build in pickup isn't in the same spot as the points. |
