| Post subject: | Help with tool to remove the rear differential oil plug |
This might be a very basic question, but I need to remove the rear differential plug of a 1969 7 1/4 differential and I don't know what tool to use. The plug hole is neither a square, nor an Torx. Is it hexagonal? (Even though it looks like a weird design), or it is a proprietary tool?. Which size (1/2", 7/16") I need to check that rear differential oil level, Thanks! |

Standard socket/ratchet tool: use your extension on the ratchet, 3/8" or 1/2" drive. (I can't remember which.) Years ago I faced the same cornfusion. P. |

Should be 1/2" double square. Your 1/2" drive ratchet will work fine. |
