Hello everybody,i am new here so bare with me.I just bought a 1971 Scamp 225 slant six with 50000 miles on it.I have never owned a six before, always had V8.I was thinking about putting a 340 in it which I have but would like to leave it stock. What is the cheapest way to get more power out of my 225.Thanks

If the engine isn't good mechanically then you need to start there. After you do a thorough tune up including setting the valve lash I would work on the exhaust system, timing and carburetor jetting.
