I'm very excited about this. You get about a 35-45 lb savings in overall weight over standard rear leafs, and almost all of it is "unsprung" weight so you get better ride/handling too. I am planning on ordering a pair (about $400) for the '64 when I can save up some cash.

They also have traction aid bars/leafs for better drag launch, but I have no idea how well this stuff would work over the tried-and-true SS leafs.

Can you imagine how light a little Sixties Dart would be with these springs, a Lou-ized aluminum slant, fiberglass bumpers, fenders, and hood, lexan windows and non-essentials removed?

Lou, about 15 years ago I rebuilt a Vette for a buddy of mine. One of the things we did was install a fiberglass leaf spring. (pretty radical for that time) I think it weighed about 12 pounds compared to the stockers almost 80. The glass one was almost flat compared to the steel one which had enough arch that the ends almost touched when we took it out. It was a very impressive piece.

Thanks for the Idea, I once worked on a kit plane that had mono directional fiberglass landing gear struts. I'm going to buy a pair for my truck,they should perform well and because I've got a shortened short bed pickup the shackles and springs stick out past the rear roll pan a bit, it should look really cool seeing those aluminum ends and polymer bushings! I am very interested in these springs for my Viscious Valiant and realize that reducing unsprung greatly improves handling but I intend driving my car alot -athree season daily driver ifyou will-and I am concerned with the durability in day to day driving conditions,also im not sure they would even have anything to fit my 61(does anyone know whether or not a later a-body leaf will interchange with a 61 or not?).

I know that the one we put in that Vette had "0" sag after 6 years on it, so I'd say they are durable.

I'm pretty sure the later "A" body springs will fit the '61.
