| Post subject: | Future Project Questions |
Still in the gathering stages of this project, but I will pick-up a BIG piece of the puzzle this weekend(1966 904 trans. & driveshaft). I plan on switching my 64' Dart GT from Pushbutton to a Lokar floor shifter. -I know that I will need a new speedo cable. Will the 66' work. or is it differant from the 64' at the speedometer? -Is the neutral Safety switch the same as the 64'? -Is there any issue with the kickdown? -Are 1966 cable throttle, as opposed to the 1964 twist-rod type? Yeah..yeah, I know, I should just buy a 1966 FSM! Thanks in advance! I appreciate this forum!-Dan |

Speedo cable is different at the trans end. Neutral safety switch is still single-wire, yes. Kickdown linkage is the same. Make sure the lever on the trans is the same length as the one on your '64. Only AC equipped '66 Slants were cable throttle. |

Thank You Mr. Skinner! Neutral safety switch is still single-wire, yes. Kickdown linkage is the same. Make sure the lever on the trans is the same length as the one on your '64. Only AC equipped '66 Slants were cable throttle. -So the non AC cars had the same twist/rod accelerator throttle assembly as the 64'? (I may be swapping that over to Lokar also, as well as the kickdown, so it will be easier when I go to a Super Six someday) |
