I apologize for the long absence.

was wandering if anyone could point me in the right direction with an air in the fuel line problem.the air is entering from the direction of the engine and i redid the hoses so many times im sure there is something else going on.

i'm thinking: maybe fuel pump was not mounted correctly?
or

You could be sucking air on the vacuum side of the pump from pin holes in diaphragm and or fuel line between pump and tank pick-up. For air to enter on the pressure side (pump to carburetor) of pump’s plumbing would be near imposable as any leak would be squirting fuel.

Why are you sure you are getting air in the fuel line? What symptoms is the vehicle exhibiting?

Like WJAJR says, if the hole is after the pump then it would be squirting gas. if it is before the pump that leaves the rubber and hard lines. If you have replaced the rubber and are sure of the integrity of the hose and the tightness of the clamps then that leaves a hole in the metal line.

What is the condition of the pickup in the tank?

If the diaphragm of the pump has problems, replace it right away. Check the oil to make sure there is no fuel in it. Gasoline in the oil will destroy parts in your engine real quick. Change the pump, then do an oil change with filter if you find this to be the issue.
