After 10+ years and probably 1000's of launches, Ryan's Dart finally coughed up a set of spider and axle gears. I was really surprised that the cone type posi has lasted this long, but it held up well. My question is this. Are the axle gears and spiders in the posi rears different than the open rears? (I suspect they are) If they are the same I have a set here he can use. If they are different does anyone know where to get a set? Anyone have a used set? For the race next week he is installing my 3.55 rear so he can race it. So there is no huge rush. Thanks for your help! Rick |

I have also dealt with Cass. Great guy to deal with for sure. I've even had him answer e-mails at midnight. |

I have an e-mail into him as I type. I figure with the cone type posi's turning to junk after they wear out, someone should have a set of gears laying around! |

Ok, Cass has nothing used. Does anyone have a worn out Cone type posi. We may be willing to buy the gears out of it from you. Rick |

Romeo and all, Who made the factory cone type posi's in 1970? That is what the rear was out of. Rick |

The Auburn Gear Company. Aftermarket,It is in a 8 3/4 that I had built around '05. From what I understand they are not rebuildable or you have to send them back to Auburn.Don't know who made them for Chrysler. Dana? |

Cass is the man. I avoid the cones if I can. It is not hard to buy just the LS unit and swap your gears onto it and set the backlash. Lou |

I agree, but if the cones wear out and get junked, then someone should have one laying around to get the axle and side gears out of. If we have to buy one Ryan will likely get the clutch type from Cass.
