I think your problem is the carb, not the jets. 650 CFM is WAY to big for a motor that is stock other than a cam. You would be better served stepping down to a 390 CFM Holley or a two barrel carb.

i have read on here that other people are using them for blowthrough and they are working just fine with similar setups. i plan on running it as a 2bbl to start with and going from there. just trying to see where other people have started with their jetting.

Ah. I didn't know your plans were leading up to a forced induction system. Good luck!

It was my understanding you should select a carb to match your engine size with blow thru. That 650 DP may be too big. But you may also have a problem, since Holley doesn't list a DP carb in the 400 to 500 cfm range.

You can get a Holley DP 390, though it is very pricey. I am currently running this carb on my car. I don't know how well it would work using a 650 DP as a two barrel initially with a blowthru setup. Let us know how it turns out, would be interesting to hear your results.

The 650 should work fine. I drive mine with a 600 with no problems. Every engine is different. Are you going to do the boost referenced power valve mods?

If you're running only 8psi you might get away with not doing the mod however monitoring your afr is even more critical. As a guess, I'd go with 76 primary and 89 secondary. Assuming gasoline, don't stay in it if your afr is over 12.0.

with all the reading ive done on the subject i was gonna leave the pv alone for now unless i need to so something with it. i dont plan on going crazy with the boost i dont wanna put a cage in my car so im gonna keep it pretty slow.

thanks for the advice. ill give it a shot when i get everything together.

I did the BRPV mod to my carb but it ran fine without it. I did mine to help mileage which seemed to make a considerable differnce. 22mpg hwy at the current tune 10psi.

As Kevin pointed out, the mod should be done if there is any street driving done because the MPG will suffer with such a large primary jet.
