So I answered my own question
I was just frustrated over having to buy 2 sets of bearings. they are 1.8'' for early SG carriers and 2'' for the later. Opens use 2''. Got all the facts from Dr. Diff's web.

I'm working on a 8 3/4 SureGrip that is supposed to be a 1966 vintage. It needs carrier side bearings and races. I have bearings and races from a 8 3/4 open carrier and the inside diameter of the bearing is too large. Anybody got a part number for the smaller bearing of the SureGrip? |

Yea, I took apart a open and went to the parts store for bearings thinking that they are alllllll the same. Yea,, I was wrong. |
