Have several loose ends to finish up over the winter on the 83 D-150, good news is for the first time in years, I am not using the 68 Barracuda as a storage bin for 83 D-150 parts... charged the battery, gas in the tank, ether in the carb,, it starts,, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=14BIZ2HowA8 after warming the engine, pulled the plugs and did a compression test.. 1 to 6 was 120,120,118,120,115,118 the motors sounds fine, no smoke out the tail pipe, a little puff out the valve cover breather when the rpms drop after the engin is rev'd. Seems fine, no oil leaks.. There are some oil crud deposits that can be seen when looking in the oil fill on the valve cover and that were on the sparkplug tubes,, but I think those are more closly related to the quality of engine oils available in the late 60's and early 70's than a lack regular service. the car is basically intact, missing the driver side head light bezel (I have found one of those),, and the truck key lock assembly. One item that I did notice on the engine is that the center three intake / exhaust manifold bolts do not have the normal wing shaped washers and thicker round washer in the center. These appear to be plain, thin, round washers,, The patina on those washers match about everything else,, so what ever was done, it was some time ago.. http://www.flickr.com/photos/13718356@N ... 006854075/ The plan is to finish up the 83 D-150 over the winter, then maybe starting this spring,,do enough on the 68 Barracuda to make it street driveable,, |

I like your attitude, John! Get one project driving and in a solid state to build on, and then start the next project! Lou |
