Please can someone clarify the spring that sits under the hex adjustment screw at the top of the step up piston assembly. This is the top spring with the tails that stick out each side that I'm referring to. I've studied many pictures showing them lying loose, but are they supposed to be stretched over the step up rods? |

What if the carb on the car doesnt have these at all? The reman one I put on doesnt have that spring, didnt notice that until the core was long gone back to the store... Car runs pretty good, better than it did before at least.
