Ok got clips off from front cover, question is does the blower motor hold the heater box up with the rubber pieces that push through the firewall?? |

It is easier to take the whole heater box out. It is held in by three nuts around the blower motor, one screw between the rubber hoses on the firewall and a J bolt inside the vent door. Remove those and box slides out. Then you need to remove the control cables, a couple of electrical connections and the defroster tubes. Now you can remove the box and seat it on a bench to repair. Gaskets, the heater core and various other parts are available on E-Bay for reasonable prices. While it is out you may want to install a wiper arm pivot rebuild kit and grease the wiper linkage. |
