Which Holley are you converting? (1920 or 1945?)

If it's a Holley 1920, the bracket for the rod linkage can be unscrewed and transferred. You might check to see if someone has a spare carb with a bracket they don't need before you do the welding.

(If it's a 1945, you will need to do the welding/fabrication).

Well, that's certainly one way, but one washer will allow the rod to move slightly, and wallow the hole larger and oval shaped. It may work well at first, but that wear will make the function less precise and you won't be able to get wide open throttle. Two washers spaced as far apart as possible would be better.

Best would be to find a rod operated carb & transplant the bracket, but I question welding or brazing on the throttle shaft. I think it might cause a vacuum leak. Maybe put the throttle body in cold water before heating the shaft??
