A couple of years. Longer if you count the trip Linda took to get the RED that wouldn't certify as a door stop for a poker game. Actual build has been going on this year in between customers with actual money. Gary has been absolutely the best. He's having fun with the car. CJ |

That thing is Insane! What is the pole coming out of the end of the crank? (is that where the second slant 6 is going? ) |

That "pole", is for aligning the crankshaft center line with the differential. They don't use a driveshaft with U-joints, just a coupler shaft. |

I doubt it will be the fastest. We'll see if it's the quickest though! CJ |

Hope you get this car done, CJ. Notice has been given by Mr. Will Burns of Gloucester, VA ---> 9.09 @ 140 MPH, spinning through 1st gear. 8s should be served on the next outing, most likely. Lou |

Got an update. The car is front and center in Gary's shop. Gary is having some machine work done on the blower mount at a cnc shop. His Bridgeport could do it, but it would be too time consuming. We are now on the third firewall. Mounting the starter in the customary location would result in having to disassemble the entire blower/intake/exhaust system to access the starter. We've got nozzle locations worked out for the fire suppression system now, and a banged up tractor pan will be heavily modified to fit over the girdle. A car pan is too tight. There is still the matter of the pump drive system, blower restraint system, and safety gear. The brand new 7 point harness Gary gave me needs to go in for recert. If my blower restraint plate will work, it will need to be re-webbed, though we haven't completely figured out where the head side anchoring will be done. The bottom of the Clifford plenum will sport two burst disks. The blower belt will be rubber, not Kevlar. Kevlar won't dampen harmonics. There will be no Harmonic Balancer on this engine. It will rely on the big rubber band up front for those duties. Still building. I'm hoping to get the car to the track this year! CJ |
