I would start w the simples and track all wires both hot and grounds. Then if all wires check good then I'd try a diff coil. If you got hot going to the coil and nothing coming from it, I'd suspect either bad grounding (can't have electricity flow w out ground) or bad coil. Also look in ads for harbor freight, they usually have a coupon for free multi meter. If not I think I got one. I'd send ya my cheapie but I built it at a military school. Keep us posted. |

i'll check out harbour freight. i got it goin but not sure what how i did. motor grounded twice, replaced coil, added reg to coil, chaned condensor, changed 9 used) dist twice. did eventually get a good spark, the engine was donated out of 65 b body that had been sittin how????? long. it did turn over freely, i replaced the valve cover and pan gaskets, shirted marvel and oil down cylinders, robbed carb off good runnin duster........ checked position of dist and comp, .... run about 1 second. was showing 45 lb comp, rollid it over, poured pint of 30 wt down carb, then it fired up and ran like a top, no smoke or noise, didn't get chance to check comp after that but it did show 18 vac. the dart lives AGAIN!! life is GOOD! thanks for the help. |
