getting this rear as my 7.25 has issues.

I have no idea what it will take to install into our 1968 dart .
any help would be appreciated. Can I use my drive shaft or does it have a larger rear yoke..can I use my rear axle U bolts (loops to the springs) or is it a larger diameter axle housing. Any other areas that I am not listing for the conversion..?
hope to do the switch at Rodney's shop in Queenstown Maryland in 1 day.

just trying to get my ducks in order to make this happen in 1 day.

What you need:
Shorter drive shaft, the Scamp shaft should be fine.
3" u-bolts and shock plates, also from the Scamp or any other 8 1/4 or 8 3/4 equipped A-body or early enough B-body.
Swap in the parking brake cables from the 7 1/4.

Josh has it right, New U bolts can be had over the counter at about $15 a pair ($30 for the axle swap). Need the shock plates for sure.

If you get all of the above (and maybe some brake fluid if you don't get a block under the brake pedal to hold it up), it typically takes me about 4 hours alone to swap axles in a late A-body with all the right parts (start hitting your current U-bolts with Penetrating oil unless you plan on cutting them out with a sawzall or burning them with a torch, also hit the rear brake hose fitting with a little lube too or you may need a new hose and a flare kit and fitting...

Don't know what brake-wheel combo you're running now, but that 8 1/4 is going to have LBP and 10" drums.

Driveshaft will have to be cut 1-3/4" if you use your old one.

As for the yoke, the 8-1/4" should have a 7260 yoke same as your 7-1/4". If not they do have adapter U-joints.
