Hey folks, I am getting closer to having my slant six back together and I am wondering what consensus is on floor starting my engine before putting it into my car. I am not wanting to have to pull it out again after installing it if I find an oil leak somewhere. Question is it doable? If so are there any suggestions on doing it? I thought about getting an old 904 to starting it on but then thought maybe it would be a good idea to perhaps put my rebuilt 904 there to see if it has any transmission leaks. What are yalls thoughts and suggestions? Thanks folks. |

x2 on that, unless you have some time and a welder and tubing available then you can make a stand for the job (and have a place to mount the radiator etc...I had a buddy fab one up for me out of his pile of spare steel.-D.Idiot |

Thanks figured as much but its me putting it in and out and hat the prospect of having to take it out again for an oil leak and I wanted to reduce my workload as much as possible. But I guess I can just tell myself its practice eh? Cheers all! John |
