Post subject:  Headlight Switch Question

My headlight switch is giving me problems. When I pull the rod out to turn on the headlights it will only turn on the headlights if I pull it really hard and even then any slight movement and the lights will turn off. I suspect something is not making contact inside the body of the switch. The yellow/orange lights come on and have no problems. I've gotten the switch out of the car and can't see a way to open it up. Does anyone have any tips or instructions to fix this issue? Or do I need to purchase a new switch or rod?

Let me know if you need more details or if you know where I can buy a new switch / rod. I have 2 days until I have to drive at night so any help would be much appreciated! Thanks ahead of time!

New switches are inexpensive, and often available at the local parts stores.
Standard Products DS165T
Airtex/Wells 1S1451

If not, try some electronic cleaner spray.

Awesome. I found one at a local store for like $15. Thanks for the suggestion.
