Post subject:  Hooking up the 904 to my electronic speedo?

My current speedometer is an electronic unit, powered by a module that plugs into the Ford T- 5. I am not sure what I need for this 904 to work it. As it sits there is nothing in the hole in the tail shaft, so suspect I need something as a Mopar base that a conversion module plugs into. Any ideas? I will call Summit maybe tomorrow. Thanks.

on my 83 D-150, I changed it to an instrument cluster from a 90 D-150,. The 90 cluster has an analogue speedo driven from a VSS, no speedo cable..

the standard motor products sc109t,

screwed directly on to the existing speedometer pinion drive housing on the 83 a833,,the 904 tranny uses the same speedo pinion drive housing. At least the ones I have seen in the local pull a parts do..
here is a e bay ad for one, I bet you can also get one from Brewers or Passon

I believe you will need the sc109t or alternative that matches the pulse needed by your electronic speedo.., the tranny speedo pinion drive housing, as well as a speedo gear that matches up to your axel / tire size.

the nice thing about going electronic on the speedo drive is from there it is ez to install a cruse control package,, as the cruse control can run off the same signal as the speedo.

That should work, when I set mine up I just bought an Autometer ATM-5291 from Autozone since it was recommended for my digidtal programmable speedometer (mopar didn't make a speedo gear for my combo so I was able to use what ever gear i had handy in my A-833OD and still know what the 4.56's out back were really giving me on the street).

Thanks for the replies. Hopefully I can figure that out. This speedo is calibrated on a measured mile, so the gear drive does not matter. I would like to be able to use the harness I have currently. I will have to check that out and see what it is. If not then splicing wires is not too hard. Thanks again.
