| Post subject: | Help me understand differences in the Holley 1920 |
I am confusing myself (that isn't hard) regarding the Holley 1920 Carb. Mine ('72 Ply Scamp) looks like the Figure 2 of this page: http://u225.torque.net/cars/SL6/docs/Ho ... Manual.pdf but several of the 1920 carbs I have found for sale look like the figure 4 of the same page. Specifically, I have a fuel bowl vent tube on mine. Some of the 1920 appear to be missing this. What am I missing? Mine is working fine at the moment but I am looking for a spare. Is there a year that the vent tube was added? Are they all 1920, but with different part #'s? Any explaination or help would be appreciated. Thanks! |

I'm not sure how many years the holley 1920 was manufactured but there are several different versions from what i can tell (possibly 4 from what i've seen) There should be a series of #'s above the float bowl that will give you the model #. The 1920 that i'm using right now is off a 72' dart it has 6260 2 1267 (6260 is the model #) Look at the model # on yours and write it down to look for a spare... |

Sure, 1973 on up had the vent tube which goes over to the vapor canister. When I find spare carbs I pass up the ones with out them. I also try to look for the Economaster versions. They have better throttle response and better mileage. Click on the red link below my name and look at the photo where I am looking down the throat, and you will see what looks like a wagon wheel atomizer instead of the T-bar antenna. I also have a good shot of where the carb number is stamped, List# 7595.
Any explanation or help would be appreciated. Thanks! |
