I have a 71 Dart slant six. The car had a cruise control when I bought it. I got it hooked back up and finally found out how to work the darn thing. So today on the interstate i set it and it was working great! But only for about 10 miles, then it shut off and I couldn't get it to turn back on. I checked when I got to school and a the power light came on but it still wont engage. Does anybody know what the problem could be? The brand name on the switch is Escort if that makes a difference. |

Without knowing just what this device looks like, or how it is controlled, all I can advise is the basic remedies for this sort of electromechanical contraption. Check all its electrical connections, tighten and or clean as needed. Make sure spedo cable driving unit is doing its job, if a vacuum diaphragm is part of this device, check for vacuum leaks, and make sure all rods, levers, and connections to carburetor have freedom of movement. |
