Thanks y'all! I have a service/repair manual! I just can't make sense of the wiring diagrams!! I'm going to try a condenser and re-check the timing tomorrow!! If it acts the same I will pull the carb,(1945) and go through it! It is a remanufactured and was vacuum packed in plastic!! When I give it throttle it sprays good!! Oh well, I will try tomorrow!! Thanks for all the help!!

if you are needing help with wiring diagrams,,
getting to know the codes for wire gauge, wire insulation color, terminals, ground markers really helps,,

it is much like reading a city street map,
post back and you will get help

I missed the thread where you describe the symptoms. Can you tell us again what is going on?

The symptoms are it starts hard, runs rough for a few seconds and dies! It will fire on all six every now and then! It was running like that when I bought it. I made sure it was timed correct, checked for water in the gas,(none)! Timing was spot on and they said they put a new coil in and I thought maybe they got the wires crossed on the coil! I switched them and it ran like a top for a week or so and went to walmart one day and it started bucking and sputtering and when I got to walmart it died and wouldn't stay running!! Had it towed home and since then I replaced the coil, points, checked timing, checked for water in the gas!! It will start but won't stay running! Still runs rough but will hit on all six briefly but dies!! Haven't replaced the condenser but will Monday!! It seems to me it's a electrical issue, but might be carb which is reman. 1945!! It has been converted to points distributor by PO! I've also replaced the ballast resistor!! That's where I'm at now!! Thanks for any advice!!

Turn the key to the run position and check for voltage at the coil. Better yet, start it, and when it dies check for voltage at the coil. If there is voltage there I suspect fuel. If there is not, then check the high side of the ballast resister. If there is voltage there, you need another ballast resister. If not, your ignition switch or wiring from switch to ballast is bad. There are many places you can have high resistance in that circuit.
