I need to remove some gasoline that is over 15 years old from the gas tank of my Barracuda. I have siphoned most all of the black sludge that has developed from the gas turning to a "varnish". I want to make sure that I get it cleaned out. Is there a good way to clean the tank thoroughly without removing the tank?

To really get the tank clean, you should remove it and have it boiled-out.

The only other thing you can do is pour-in some fresh gas and mix-in some carb cleaner, slosh that around by shaking / bouncing the car, then siphone it all out. Repeat as needed until the stuff you siphone out looks clean.

That is what I thought. I will do it the right way. I can't afford bad gas in my new engine causing problems. I understand the "varnish" can affect some of the engine components, such as the valve guides etc..
