Okay, at the risk of asking one of those "who makes the best oil filter/tires/oil" questions, whet is the best/ cheapest source for ball joints/bushings? I don't want to buy a full kit to spread the cost out and will only be working on weekends on the street. Probably will tackle the lowers first, then the uppers. This is a 74 dart slant six 4 door and will only be a driver. |

I'm not a front end expert,, but that is a good place for brand name parts like Moog, Raybestos... For price shopping I start at RockAuto,,their on line catalog is ez to use, their prices are good, most important they list the part manufacturer and part number,, plug those into google and you will find the best advertized prices. Also at RockAuto, if something you need in in their manufacture close out,, you can get really good pricing. |

Honestly I'd save up the $230 or so and just get a kit from PST. It comes with a mismatch of parts but there will be plenty of Moog in there along with some Raybestos and another brand or two. If you just buy Moog individually, you'll end up spending about twice as much in the end. |

Yes, it's hard though if you don't have the budget to buy the kit but want to work on it piecemeal. You could always save up, and then do it piecemeal from the kit...or buy as you go, spend a bit more, but be finished earlier...and pick and choose the best parts for each point. I believe you can't go wrong with Moog ball joints and bushings. On that note, the Moog ball joints have slotted balls, so they grease well, stay lubed. bg |
