I'm planning on running 8-10 psi boost on a stock 225. Has anyone run the demon blow thoughs? I was looking at the 650cfm. Is that too much cfm? If so, which premade Blow through carbs are people using on the 225. I would like to start with a premade blow through. Building my own is something ill tackle later. Thanks! |

Hi RustyDusty, I have putting together, though mostly looking at a 64 Dart 225 with a Vortec blower. It is not complete, but getting closer. About 5 years ago i made up the bracketry, inlet tune, hat and pulleys. It has a demon650 from the factory. I know it will need some setting up. At the same time i got the roller rocker 1.6 from the Cox Bros. what I need now is the oil return lin to the pan from the blower. When i have the motor out, i will put in a better clutch. Also an erson cam customengineered. Good to q15psi, I ill be senging in card to ashp. Maybe can fget a bee, ryear Quote: ![]() ![]() |

Quote: Hi RustyDusty,
A Vortech on a 225 should be a really good setup, but an 8.75" or at least. an 8.25" rear end is going to be needed for reliability if you have any tire at all... I dont know what happened to the end of my last post, but i should probably wear my glasses before sending... just put together an 8.75 limited slip with 3:55 gearing. Doug Dutra helped me out on this. It should be ready to put in tomorrow. Rebuilding a slip yoke 4 speed next and then i will be ready for the driveshaft replacement. Keep me posted on your progress. I am curious on how to get the Demon setup for this engine. That will be tricky. |

That will be tricky. That will be a neat setup, and a very workable one, I think. Our car is ready-to-race... just waiting on some better weather.... it's about 30 degrees outside, now.... Thanks for your interest! Bill |

We have had some good weather for working on cars, but we need the rain. I should have some data on the Demon with the Vortec in a couple of months. AZ |

Andy... we still have a ways to go here in Arkansas... we have been at this project for FOUR YEARS, now, and are really anxious to see what it will do with 10 pounds of boost. Eventually, we will want to raise that to fifteen, and then, probably twenty, but for a tuning baseline, ten seems a good place to start. It only weighs about 2,670-pounds, so it shouldn't take 300 HP to push it into the 12's...I should have some data on the Demon with the Vortec in a couple of months. AZ Talk's cheap; we'll see!!! ![]() Bill in Conway, Arkansas |

Can anyone give me a decent baseline setup for the demon BT carb? I understand not all setups are the same, but I would be interested in hearing what anyone running this carb has found to work for them as far as jetting, airbleed, etc. |
