To all, Posted this information in another forum, and figured I should probably copy it here. Anyway, here's my ride: Plum Crazy Purple 71 Swinger 68 225 block and head Bored 30 over Head shaved 90 SBC Valves - I think they ended up 1.72I/1.50E 340 Springs MP 268 cam Silvolite pistons Stock rods Cox bros true double roller timing chain (what a thing of beauty) installed with cam advanced 2 degrees (per one of Doc's old messages) J&M windage tray (figured I'd do it while everything was open (another thing of beauty)) Clifford 4bbl intake Edelbrock 500cfm carb (stock jets, may need to do some playing but seems to be working okay) Clifford street rod headers Dual 2-1/4" pipes from header out w/ Flowmaster Delta 40's 10" Midwest verter (per Dennis' specs I think (stall around 2500)) (also a thing of beauty) Stock 904 and finally (I hate to mention this part) stock 7-1/4 rear w/ 2.76? gears To be done someday soon I hope: Disc brakes (Should have done this stuff before the engine, but stopping is over-rated) 8-3/4 w/ 3.55 gears Thanks again to all who offered me advise along the way. Post subject: | Updated Photos - New Paint and Top |
New paint, vinyl top, and seat upholstery added in 2009. Paint and vinyl top done by Rocket Restoration in Olympia. Great bunch of guys. Just wish I had enough money to cut them loose on a full resto. Anyway, here are some updated pictures: |

Post subject: | Sad News |
Now for the really sad news. Unfortunately, since the completion of the engine rebuild, the Swinger has probably only had 3000 miles put on it, and I just don't have the time it needs. So, I think it's going to hit the chopping blocks one of these days soon. Anyone have any idea what she may be worth in this day and age??? |
