I just recieved a letter from John Clines of Mopars Unlimited. The letter stated they are unable to hold their annual drag race this year, due to the track not being available. Will this have any effect on the "Slant Six" race? |

Charlie this come as a surprise to me and Dale just like you. Dale is going to get with the track promoter and try to pull this off at Branaird if we cannot do it there there is another track we can approch and do it stay tuned thanks Ron Parker. Ps it 40 miles closer to you .  gone bagel bagging back faster than him |

I sure hope we have a SS race in Ga. That is the nearest one to me. Don't know if I will have anything to run in time for Bristol. With all the overtime I have been putting in, have not been able to freshen up the engine in the Cuda. I just started on it reciently. PS. you heard it here first. A friend, and coworker, is going to help me. We are going to try and have the Cuda, and the Turbo Valiant at Clay City. He will bring one of the cars up on his trailer, and drive it. Wish us luck, we have a lot of work ahead of us. |

I'm here in Atlanta and would certainly be willing to help in whatever way I can to keep an event going here in Georgia. If anyone needs help coordinating, etc. let me know. |

Yes Charlie there is going to be a race in Ga. Dale and me talked to the prometer at Paradise Drag Strip in Calhoun Ga. which is about 45 miles closer to you right off I 75 . We are planning a two day event Mopar vs the world on saturday with the slant race and Sunday reg bracket racing. The date is the same so stay tuned this should work better than brainderd last year i will keep everybody posted . Still have to work the details but we are on.

That's great! I am going to try to make it to a Sunday race soon. Once you start working out details, please let us know. I'll start stirring up some interest in the North Georgia Mopar Club. I started asking around about the track in Commerce and several people have repeated what has been said here about them being hard to work with. That just makes me want to try even harder to make it better. I'll let you all know if I make any progress. Dale and Ron, I hope to meet you soon at Calhoun. Rob |

Snowed in here in Kentucky and went wandering on the forum. Not my oldest post from way back in the Tailfin days, but this looks like my oldest post here from almost 21 years ago. I did wind up eventually helping coordinate a couple things. Fun times. |
