Hello,
I have searched thus far with no success. I am looking to buy a trailer hitch for my 72 valiant. Nothing fancy I think a class 1 hitch will do. So far been striking out anyone have any ideas.?

They may install millions of hitches, but chances are slim that they have a hitch for a 72 Valiant on the shelf.

I was thinking (dangerous, I know) that uhaul's hitches were generic enough to fit most anything with frame rails. Of course, as usual, I might be wrong.
Failing that, there are trailer and hitch shops that mostly service "work trucks" that might be able to help.

Possibly. It would depend on the frame rail width, the shape of the hitch, and the shape of the bumper.

Casually looking for a Clifford hyperpak intake for cheap.

I grabbed one from the salvage yard that was wider than I needed, cut the ends off to get the right width and had a welder friend weld it back together.

There are holes in the rear frame rail for the bolts to pass through. It takes a little imagination, but it worked well for our '74 Duster.

When we sold the Duster I kept the tow hitch for my '72 Dart (or some other A body).

If its not listed in their computer to fit your car they wont sell you anything, U-stall sucks around here. I have a hitch for my 67 Valiant that came off of a 69 Valiant my brother in law gave me.

Here, too. They would not install a hitch on my 69 Polara. Also will not rent me a car hauler trailer, for use with my Toyota 1 ton truck.

Well,
i finally found a hitch off craiglist for 45 dollars. Needed to be modified some, and welded a bit, however, i am confidant now that it is over constructed, overbuilt, and solidly attached the the frame and bumper supports. Looks like it was born there.
now onto the wiring.
luckily i have a bit of grace period with my planned move.

Hey again,
Got a four wire trailer harness from e-trailer as was suggested on an earlier post. Went together completely in 90 minues including final trimming and routing. Works as it should. After my 25 mile shake down, everthing works as it should.

I am looking to add a trailer hitch to my 1966 Dodge Dart, wondering what you are going to do with that hitch on your '66, and what it looks like. If I don't find one that fits, or one I like, I will probably just weld one up to fit. Thanks

It's going to be hard to find a ready to go receiver for a Dart, as there weren't many to start with. But a little creativity goes a long way:







I used the center section of a bolt together receiver, and notched it into my bumper structure. As you can see, the loops for the chains to hook are somewhat tight to get to. They work fine with normal S hooks on the end of most safety chains, but I couldn't get the carabiners on my buddy's dolly in there. It was only an across town tow, so I wasn't too worried about the marginal chain mounts.
