I'm around 10psi now going to step up to 14psi tonight or in the next couple days. I'm gonna guess and jet the secondary up before hand and see where my afr is at then go up or down jets when needed. I just was curious has anyone kept track or figured out how many jet sizes they had to increase per pound of boost. I know different setups would react differently, I was just wondering if i should record my observations for the sake of others?

I think that information could be very helpful, since that kind of info is so scarce RE: keeping a good mixture under varying amounts of boost.

I am not even sure that increasing boost demands/requires a jet change..... might not.

Let us know what your experience is! Please!

I know I am not turbo'ed.but I lifted the head with my 1to1 drive, half track and 15psi lifted, ran 12psi no jet change no problems. I was wondering about afr's I'm at 10 all the way down the track, I have been looking at dyno video on YouTube mostly v8 but they seem to want high 11's to mid 12's , any Afr number for slantsix?

Everyone told me to aim for 11.5 afr at WOT
10 psi I was 11.3 at wot
I have to fix an exhaust leak on the downpipe right before the wideband unless my WOT really is around 12.0 after 5 jets up on 14psi

Damn vband stuff... never had an exhaust leak with the 3 bolt flange and alum gasket

Better to go rich than lean, so I say adjust so you're really rich and work your way to 11.5. Don't wanna go into detonation.

I shoot for 11-11.5 on street and track. 10 psi max so far, no intercooler, but water/meth 50/50 injection.

Lou,

How much does your car weigh and what do you think its quarter-mile time would be?

I am trying to figure out what a 3,200-pound 225 slant turbo would turn with your 10 pounds of boost with nothing more than a 500 2bbl and bigger-than-stock valves, and water/alky injection, but no intercooler. (Pump gas.... the good stuff.) Stock cam, etc....

Thanks for any info...

My guess, would be high 12's-low 13's. Depending on converter and gearing.
My 170 turbo draw thru would run mid 13's at 2800 lbs weight. So 50 more cubes, and better tuning stuff (BTM, AFR gauge) should pick it up more. Also more effiecent turbo.

Bill,

All info for my car is in here:

http://slantsix.org/forum/viewtopic.php ... sc&start=0

Done over 100MPH in 1/4, but 14.27 sec so really lazy off line (big turbo, low stall conv). Low 13s should be no problem. 3400-3480 lb racewt for most passes.

Seems like with good tuning and well matched turbo size and converter, you should be in the 12s with that setup.

Thanks for that link, Lou. My other (Vortech-inspired V-8) car runs some 1.70-second 60-foot times and this turbo car feels quicker than it, so maybe we can get it into the 13's... who knows.

The warm weather is here and we're ready, so it won't be very long...

Thanks again for the good info!!!
