Is anyone running a turbo without a muffler? I've read that a muffler may not be necessary with a turbo but I'm wondering how loud it would be. Bob D |

It wouldn't be as loud as a NA motor without a muffler but would still be quite loud. With all the mufflers out there that do a decent job taking the bark out of the exhaust note and have basically no more restrictio than a pipe of pipe why bother trying? |

Just curious if anyone had tried it. I would hate to miss out on a "sweet" sound for lack of trying it. I probably will try it if no one else has but I am expecting that it will be too loud. Bob D |

The Drake's Simca racer is a non-muff turbo car, it is way quite compared to the open header racers but you can still hear the thing. It does have a great sound to it as the turbo spools-up. DD |

It is not as loud as the big blocks with glasspaks. Sometimes I can not hear it in the staging lanes, water box and starting line unless I am standing right beside the exhaust. The other car drowns it out. Tom |
