I have a 70 Barracuda 198 ci slant six. I replaced the cracked factory exhaust manifold with one from an approximately 1976 truck. The new manifold has a different well for the choke thermostat. The original manifold had a hole in the exhaust runner and the thermostat sat in a steel cup inside the hole. The new exhaust manifold has a pocket similar the the ones used on early 70's V8's. The top of the pocket is about 5/8" higher than the old hole in the runner was. This is causing a misalignment. Does anyone know of a fix. 1. Preferably a thermostat compatible with a Carter 1 barrel Carb. 2. An electronic choke conversion kit. or 3. Someone who can repair the original manifold that has cracked into two pieces. or Any other ideas would be great. Thanks IMGTX |
