slant six , purple shaft 276/490. electronic ignition. orang box. 1 bbl carb stock every thing else. this is the engine that was in the car when I got it. took it apart to do valve job. will this combo work when I get it back togather? I know I could make it better if I had the money but I dont. |

Sounds under-carbureted to me...I'd guess that cam's gonna want more gas than a BBS or 1920 can feed it. Would probably perform better with a 390 cfm 2-bbl or 4-bbl. But if you're on a tight budget, start looking for a Super 6 setup...that's probably the cheapest way to go. Check it out: http://www.slantsix.org/articles/supersix/article.htm ---Red |

Thats way under-carb'd, youd need ALTEAST a supersix for that setup to be of any good use. It'd work, but it would be a realy pain! Justin |
