at the pull a part, noticed a couple of Dakodas with aluminum drive shafts, would one of those be a suitable donor to the 68 Barracuda when I do the swap over to a 8.75 rear and a 833 tranny? figured if I need to modify the drive shaft for length,, should use a modern light weight part,, is that a good plan? thanks. |

I bet the Daks are shorter, but not a bad idea, no... I have had Denny's Driveshaft in NJ make me an alum driveshaft from scratch. Lou |

But can a driveshaft shop shorten a composite (carbon fiber?) driveshaft? Cause I've got one thats longer... |

Carbon fiber - highly doubtful. Aluminum, some shops but not all. Lou |

I seem to remember seeing ally shafts under Ford minivans. (I am gettin' old, though.) Roger |

Was told to find a aluminum driveshaft from the ford version of the cop cars....that the sized universals would convert them....but dont remember about the length. ![]() |
