Does anyone have extra windshield wiper pivots and a 3 speed wiper motor that would fit my daily driver, yellow 74 Dart Swinger? After scrapping the ice of the windshield yesterday before heading off to work I turned on the wipers to clear some remaining ice shavings and the drivers side wiper stopped and the motor would not ........even after shutting the switch off and it continued to grind away and eventually stopped. I had to stop the engine to get the wiper to shut off. After getting home last night I looked up under the dash only to find the pivot arm broken off from the shaft....not sure what else may be damaged.... I would like to go ahead and replace both wiper pivots. The 3 speed motor has 3431905 stamped on it. Then 73692 and 2374. None of the supply houses up here carry the 3 speed motors any longer or wiper pivots. Would it be hard to convert to a two speed wiper motor? There are a lot of two speed units available new and rebuilt. Has anybody done that mod? or better yet have the parts I need? Thanks! |

Hey Ted, I will look through some things at the garage. I may likely have saved some wiper pivots and possibly a good wiper motor, but not sure if it would be a 2 or 3 speed motor. I will try to sneak by tomorrow because I will be out of town for about a week starting Thursday. |
