I could not find a forum that seemed right for this, but here goes. Legendary sells seat covers for many cars, including my 77 Volare. Problem is, Volare seat covers cost exactly twice as much as comparable Duster or Dart seat covers. Being on a budget, I really do not care if I have exactly correct Volare covers on the seats. Dusters have nice seats too. I believe and have been told that the high-back bucket seats are exactly the same. The question is the back seat. I believe it may be that Chrysler used the same seat frames for the wide-body Volare and just made the side plastics wider to take up the extra space. We can prove this "back seat theory" by someone measuring their A-body (preferably Duster, Demon or Dart Sport) non-folding back seat for width and thickness. I can then compare those measurements to my Volare seat. Maybe I can save hundreds of dollars on my interior! Any takers? |

I am redoing the interior of my '70 Duster. Presently the back seats (still covered in original material) are in storage but I will be over there sometime this weekend and can take some pics/measurements of top and bottom. It might take a couple days though.....just in case someone can get the dimensions to you sooner. This would be the fixed/non folding rear seat like you asked. I will check back and see if anyone else answers sooner but either way I will still provide you my data asap. Have fun with your project! |

I don't think the buckets are the same either-- the volare seats are slightly wider? will try to compare-- I have a set of both. Lawrence |

V-dart, make sure the buckets are both the highback type. They made both types. |

I measured an a-body inside from inside panel to inside panel and it was 56", same as my Volare. Now ,whether that translates to identical seats in terms of thickness and depth, I don't know. But it would not surprise me to see Mopar use the same seat frames in everything. |
