Post subject: | car and truck oil pans |
Hello, I know I heard somewhere that the oil pans and pickup tubes are different in the car and truck engines. I have a '77 D100 and have 2 engines that were in cars. Would I have any issues dropping in either engines in my truck with the car oil pans? Is it necessary to have a truck oil pan on the engine? I hope not because I'd really like to just get the oil pan I removed sand blasted, painted and installed on the engine and just drop it in the truck. Thanks for any and all info! |

Truck pans have the dipstick tube through the side. Truck pans have the sump in a different place than a car. Car pan will not work |

Ok so all I would need is an oil pan from a truck and a pickup tube for the oil pump? Is that it or am I missing something? |

Correct. I just did the same swap this week, Car into truck. Car pan would hit the cross member in a 2WD truck Rick |
