Finally getting around to stripping the /6 - 170 that's been hanging on my engine hoist for months. Everything has come off pretty easily, with my little DeWalt electric impact gun, but I can't get the manifolds OFF the block. Is there an especially hard to see bolt/stud that I'm missing? I've lost count of the number of nuts & bolts I removed, and when I ran out of daylight, then kicked the can of removed hardware into the grass next to my driveway, I quit for the day!! Anyone have an idea where a last fastener might be hiding and how to get to it? I'm waiting for nightfall, or maybe the dawn's early light to try again - it's just too darn hot in my Texas driveway with the sun beating down. Thanks! BC (the wimp) |

There are (2) that are difficult to reach towards the center. I always use a deep socket and long extension. http://www.slantsix.org/articles/manifo ... unting.htm |

Thanks for the replies, folks! Maybe I should have started by soaking the joints with chemical penetrants? Duh!!! BC |
