Are all Hurst shifters universal fit with the proper linkage kit. What I mean is this. I am beginning to keep my eyes open for a Super Shifter 3 with reverse lockout. I see many of them for Munchies and Fords...etc. I just want to be sure the main body of the shifter is the same if I find one of them for a decent price. I'm pretty sure they are but just wanted to check with the experts first!

The aluminum bracket that holds the shifter to the trans, mounts the shifter higher for the Super Shifter 3 then the OE shifter. This is to give the shift rods a more direct line to the levers on the trans. So you need the bracket.
