Since many of us have been hopping up our Slant Sixes, is a Radiator Shroud needed to help with the cooling? Does anyone make one for a 1963 Dodge Dart? |

Its a pretty good idea to run one. Really helps pull air directly through the radiator. However, alot of people in alot of cars, slants or other, dont have one. Mine hasnt had one since we got it 4-5 years ago. Temp stays perfect at one point all day everyday regardless outside temps. Until recently the 1.5 year old radiator decided it doesnt want to hold coolant in the lower tank anymore ![]() |

Not Hopped Up at all, but I do have a Radiator Shroud on my '64 Dart GT, and a 6 blade fan that were both part of an A/C (air-conditioning) package. It makes a Huge difference over stock (no shroud & 4 blade fan), my car runs very cool, even in Texas Heat! |

+1. If you can fit one, it is always a good idea to run a fan shroud. Towing, AC, and heay duty cooling packages almost always came with a fan shroud.Interestingly, cold weather packages did not. My great uncle bought a 1978 Mercury Zephyr wagon new in Alaska. It went to my grandfather when my great uncle died and then to me when my grandfather died. The wagon was sold with a northern climate package and had no fan shroud, a two blade fan, and a block heater. |
