Well noticed during the test and tune at SGMP the duster felt funny in 4th gear at the big end of the track. Half the runs were garbage had trouble getting into second gear 3 runs in a row. Beat my best time but wasn't too happy missing a 12 second pass :(.
60ft was 2.0 traction issues as usual my better 60ft runs couldn't get in 2nd gear.
1/8 8.43 @86.2
1/4 13.044 @109.58

Later on in the night noticed when I stab it in 4th gear just revs up to the limiter instantly. This clutch has been daily driven on 10psi most of its 2 and 1/2 maybe 3 years. Ive been running 14psi for a few months. I feel like this clutch didn't live very long considering theres been periods of months when I haven't raced the car so it's not like this thing gets launched on an every weekend basis.

The question is did this clutch live a decent life or should I be looking into Mcloud or other clutch companies.

Clutch info: I sent Spec my flywheel they drilled it to fit a 9.5inch stage 3+ clutch that was supposed to hold 600ft lbs.....

Weighing my options at this point because if i'm gonna be spending cash on a new clutch setup I do not want to reuse this stock flywheel so this may turn into an expensive project since i'll be looking for an sfi flywheel

Kev

Mcleod would be my first choice for changing to a "stock" sized clutch...Spec clutches just don't last and aren't assembled well if you've followed the past posts by other users including myself.

Sadly, at this time I'm sidelined on the big block clutch in my duster to give you any feedback on that junkyard conversion (at least it all bolts in with very little modification in the late body car).

Hey Lou, look at his times. If I can get him to a slant six race, he should be good for a "D" unlimited record. He has really come a long way with this car. Total daily driver.

Yes, I am impressed! Thanks, Charlie.

I should have mentioned that earlier, Kev. Would be great to see you and the car at a race, even though you will blow my D/U records away... There are precious few of us who modify these cars and still drive them regularly on the street and drive to/from tracks. Good on ya!

I am slowly making progress on the turbo Dart, but not in a big hurry. Swapped in a higher stall conv this weekend, but it only gave me 2400 RPM stall, which is not high enough with this turbo. Need a smaller turbo or more displacement (stroker). 8)

Cheers,

Lou

Thanks guys I appreciate it I was still see my time even though I was hunting for 12's that night! I will be in Tallahassee until late December so maybe I can try to make it to a race a little farther north!

Thanks for the info i'm about to call the guy you mentioned. I've already called centerforce for curiosity sake and waiting to hear back from Mcleod and Spec their techs are on lunch break at the moment.

Kev

Love your pic of you engine been admiring it for some time!
David here, my son and I built a turbo car 2009 and his is a DD as well.
We had huge clutch issues from the beginning and did multiple brands
and have three different bolt patterns on our first fly wheel. We had a custom flywheel made out of desperation.Alum w/steel insert and use
2 10" discs . IIRC PP is ACT and is from 370 Z car and our setup includes Quicktime bellhousing. Not cheap i know and we scrimped and reused the zbar etc. We dont race his but it does have a explorer 3rd member and 3.73
gear and extra shim in rear clutch pak, with 29 inch (235/45-18) TA radials.
We have snapped a front yoke but so far clutch has worked out pretty good. Have a look at pic below. My son likes the old school stick so we
continued with it until we got one that worked. Not to sound "anti "manual
but you do realize your car is a FULL second faster with a 904 right? And its cheaper Right? PM or email me if you have any questions.
