Post subject: | 1963 dart [pushbutton tranny mount bracket?? |
i'm piecing this back together from a roller. the slant is 65 and the pushbutton tranny is I assume 65. no external filter.i just dropped in the eng/tranny. I see the bracket would require offset insulator. I have bracket like in my 65 slat dart. bracket ( rest s directly under where it bolts to tranny)' I see o reillys offer an offset bracket, where it goes in bracket it has 1 bolt instead of 2. can I mke this insulator work with my bracket??????? wht do I TRY to piece these things together!!?????? LOL |

I'm 99% sure the cross members are the same. 1963 and 1965 904 transmissions are different, being that '64 was the last year for pushbuttons. 1965 is a (1) year only cable linkage to a column or console. In 1966 they went to hard linkage. |

i measured the 904 in the 65 dart (slant) , tailshaft if longer. probably B body or truck tranny? wondering if they used an offset corssmember insulator, or if crossmember sat directly under the mounting holes of the trans????? |

After reading these posts I had to grab my tape measure and check my trans out. I have a 62, 64 and 65 slant a body transmissions. The 62 and 64 are the same length-11 3/4 from bolt face to the end of tail shaft housing. The 65 is 12 1/2 but they are all the same length from bolt face to the trans mount bolt center. 6 3/4 in. Interesting? |
